Located at 1010 Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹. The Hofburg is the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg Dynasty in Austria 🇦🇹. It was built in the 13th century by Ottokar II of Bohemia and expanded several times afterwards. It also served as the imperial winter residence, as Schönbrunn Palace was the summer residence. Since 1946, it has been the official residence and workplace of the president of Austria. The complex is not a standalone palace in the sense of a Versailles. Instead, you get a series of opulent, interconnected buildings that grew from early life as the seat of the Duke of Austria in the 12th century to become the home and court of emperors. Some parts now house visitor attractions, but others have administrative roles or serve as venues for conferences, trade fairs and even concerts. You can wander around courtyards, parks and squares for free, but almost all the public attractions inside buildings need their own entrance ticket. The most popular attractions in the complex to visit are - Imperial Silver Collection Sisi Museum Imperial Apartments Imperial Treasury Austrian National Library We slowly made our way through the each of them , my personal favourite was the National Library, it was stunning. But they were all very much worth visiting. We spent the entire day going through each museum and it was amazing. I had a wonderful time. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍
A mush visit place, the official residence of the Austrian president. A beautiful, Impressive architecture and well maintained .. The palace complex includes museums, the Imperial Apartments, the Sisi Museum, and the Spanish Riding School.
Definitely a must-visit placе. We bought the Vienna Pass, which cost €124 per person** and included entry to Hofburg Palace. Keep in mind that you still need to go in advance and reserve a ticket, even if you have the Vienna Pass. Don’t make the same mistake we did – we went there only to be turned away (though at the time, this information wasn’t mentioned anywhere). For the Sisi Museum, you’ll need about 1.5 to 2 hours for a relaxed visit. It’s an incredible place, filled with history, personal belongings, dresses, and jewelry. It truly transports you into her world ✨
It is a very beautiful place, very well preserved ! We just visited Sisi’s museum! It was a nice experience but I believe that this tickets are a little bit expensive compared to the things you see and especially the time that you have there . It was really crowded even though we had our tickets booked on line and we had to be there in a specific time. Anyways I believe that if you come to Vienna you should visit it !
