Blaue Bar

We ordered the burger and the crispy chicken. The food tasted good, but the burger was extremely small. The dining room is very small and there was no air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any dress code, so some guests were wearing very casual clothes, such as Nike shorts and basic work shirts. Overall, the food was good, but the overall dining experience could be improved.

They give you some snacks while you drink, but the drinks are very pricey and high end. We tried the original sacher cake it is very dry. The hard chocolate shell and seal were nice. This place is less well known the sacher cafe and worth visiting. This time we got lucky with no reservation, but a reservation is highly recommended. You can also walk around the hotel lobby and see the wall of famous people while you are here. The bathrooms are very elegant.

This bar was a lot smaller than I expected it to be. As such, it can be hard to get a seat unless you plan ahead. We did not manage to get one our first night in town (a Wednesday in late November) but came back the next day, and the host graciously squeezed my partner and me in at the bar. The bartender really knew how to make great drinks and even mixed things up a bit for our second round after asking some questions about our preferences and how we liked the first round. Of course, we had to order the famous Sacher Torte and had no regrets. They even sent us home with a couple individually boxed Sacher Torte bites that we enjoyed on the train to our next destination. For the ambiance, service, and the quality of everything we ordered, we'd certainly find ourselves back at Blaue Bar next time in Vienna.

Just finished seeing an opera at the Vienna State Opera and looking for a drink and found The Blaue Bar. Reservations are recommended but the maître d’ found us a table just outside in the red room. We were so pleased we went back a second time when it was quieter and had drinks at the Blaue Bar too. The Blue room decor is spectacular with blue surroundings. The red room is likewise beautifully decorated in red. The service was impeccable - friendly and attentive, evening when it was extremely busy. The cocktails were tasty, especially the champagne cocktail. the free snacks a welcome treat.

Sat both in the Blaue bar and the hotel lobby for drinks. Highly recommend coming here during Christmas the lobby and atmosphere is incredible. Skip the crazy line next door for the cafe and come here no line and same foods. Great service very accommodating and good drinks!
