I originally found this hotel as I wanted one near Stephansplatz. Its reviews were almost entirely very positive; almost too good to be true. But they were true! It 'ticked all the boxes': * Location: central to everything including the metro station just outside the door, * Beautifully appointed with views of the cathedral (on request), * Excellent breakfast service; everything you could possibly want, * Importantly, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. We were just so happy there. I would have happily stayed longer if we could!
This was — quite literally — the best hotel experience that I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and this was unbeatable. 1.) obviously perfect location 2.) view! 3.) the staff were all warm, helpful, and kind. They seemed to love their job. 4.) room was extremely clean. Usually, we have to clean hotel rooms a bit extra when we arrive. Not here. 5.) the breakfast buffet was insane! Healthy options, sweet options, specialty juices, themed treats… wow 🥺 6.) we got tons of little gifts when we arrived! We got autumn themed glasses, lots of candies, snacks, drinks…🥹 Thanks for the lovely time!
Wow! When we picked this hotel we knew it would be in the center, but we didn't know how centric it would actually be. WOW! It is like everything in the city revolves around the cathedral. Anyhow, we got to the hotel and our room wasn't going to be ready until later because it was still quite early in the morning. So we left our bags in the reception and went for a bit of sightseeing. We got back a few hours later and our room was all done. The only thing we would have liked different was the view from the room. We got the view facing towards the inner courtyard, and not facing the cathedral. Other than that, everyone was super friendly at the front desk and at breakfast. They helped us with everything we asked for during our whole stay. We are already making plans to go back to the same hotel. Our last stay at a hotel was in fact somewhat of a disappointment in the breakfast and service sections, so this hotel was a huge improvement in all aspects imaginable. The breakfast was awesome every morning and it doesn't hurt that you can have glass of bubbly in the AM. The view towards the cathedral helps. We truly loved our stay at this hotel. We will visit again.
A Wonderful Stay at the Stephansplatz Hotel in Vienna My husband and I had a truly memorable stay at the Stephansplatz Hotel in Vienna. We booked a room with a view of St. Stephen's Cathedral, and the sight was absolutely stunning—it truly felt magical. The location couldn’t be more perfect; we were able to walk to most attractions, soaking in the charm of the city along the way. For our trip to the Belvedere Museum, we opted for a cab, as we knew we'd be doing a lot of walking around the museum grounds. The hotel itself is a beautiful blend of modern design and artistic touches, making it a visually appealing place to stay. The staff at the Stephansplatz were exceptional—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. They gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations, and even went the extra mile to make dinner reservations for us two evenings in a row. Housekeeping and the bellhop were also very attentive and efficient. Our room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with ample storage space. A standout feature was the tea and coffee station, which was conveniently stocked and easily accessible—no bending or reaching, which we appreciated after a long day of sightseeing. The mini-bar was well-stocked, though, of course, at an additional cost. The bathroom was impressive, with radiant heated floors that added a touch of luxury, and plenty of light. It was a generous size, and we were provided with more than enough towels and washcloths to feel truly comfortable. As for the bed, it was incredibly comfortable, and we loved that they provided two separate duvets—something we’ve seen more often in European hotels. The covers were the perfect size, so we didn’t have to worry about losing them during the night, unlike our experience in Munich, where the covers were too small. They also gave us two large pillows and two smaller ones. As avid readers, we would have preferred two large pillows each, but I’m sure they would have accommodated the request if we’d asked. Breakfast was a highlight, served in a charming room with a view of the cathedral. The buffet spread was extensive. The cappuccinos and coffee drinks were excellent, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The fitness room was another nice touch, and my husband took advantage of it a few times during our stay. There’s also a steam/sauna area, though we didn’t use it since we were always on the go exploring Vienna. Overall, our stay at the Stephansplatz Hotel was fantastic. The location, service, and amenities were all top-notch, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna. We’re already looking forward to our next stay here!
