Brunnenmarkt – A trip around the world without ever leaving Vienna Walking through Brunnenmarkt is like stepping through a magic portal into a completely different world – yet somehow, you're still right in the heart of Vienna. It's chaotic in the best way, full of life, color, spices in the air, and a mix of languages flying around. Think of it as a street festival that never ends – especially on Saturdays. If you're after fresh fruits and veggies, this place has you covered. Head toward Yppenplatz and you’ll find the best picks, especially during the Saturday farmers market – where the produce is so fresh it basically still thinks it's on the plant. Whether it's crates of juicy peaches, bunches of mint the size of small trees, or zucchini that could double as gym weights, you’ll find it all here – usually cheaper and fresher than anywhere else. And then there’s the legendary Arab generosity: walk past the right stalls and you’re almost guaranteed to be offered a slice of melon, a handful of olives, or a piece of baklava “just to try.” You’ll be full before you even start shopping – seriously, don't make the mistake of eating beforehand. It’s the kind of hospitality that turns strangers into friends and a grocery run into a cultural experience. It’s loud, it’s real, it’s slightly messy – and it’s one of the most authentic and lively places in the city. Whether you’re shopping or just wandering, Brunnenmarkt is an adventure that feeds your belly and your soul. Highly recommend – just bring a tote bag, an empty stomach, and a smile.

This everyday market accept Sundays is the best and cheapest place, for the visitor and (locals), produce needs, the fruit and veg is cheap and of the highest quality, For the bestest roast chicken, Baghdad Huher is the place at 10 euro each, the roast chicken, is the best value we have seen in Vienna, and we are chicken tragics. On Saturdays the place is packed however, has a real vibe about it, definitely a must.

Very nice traditional market with all sorts of produce. The vegetables and fruits are fresh and of good quality, and prices are very fair and sometimes cheap. Every Saturday, an additional market opens at the end with fresher fruits and vegetables and even cheaper prices. It has supermarkets too, like Penny Spar and Hofer, and the Middle Eastern foods are of amazing quality and cheap too. I recommend anyone visiting Vienna to visit this market; it’s very cool.

All food materials in cheaper price. Best place to find meat including beef, lamb, and chicken. Various cheese are sold from many places. Fruits and vegetables are fresh and cheap price. However, the road and space are small. Many people will buy their stuffs on saturday. But you can also find more discounts on saturday. So... enjoy

Say what you like about Ottakring… they have the second best market in metro Vienna. The vendors are authentically friendly. Forget rip-off Naschmarkt. Here you’ll meet real Viennese, and only occasionally the fur-bedecked types with a stick up their deportment. Do yourself a favor and try the yummy food from the stalls, especially the vegan Shawarma from Garbanzo.
