Burggarten

We visited Burggarten while exploring Vienna and absolutely loved it. It’s a beautiful and peaceful park, perfect for taking a break from sightseeing. The gardens are very well maintained, with plenty of green areas to relax, walk around, or simply enjoy the surroundings. The atmosphere is calm and charming, and the location is excellent, right in the city center. It’s a great place to sit, enjoy the scenery, and appreciate a quieter side of Vienna. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing spot during your visit.

Burggarten is a beautiful and tranquil park right in the center of Vienna. Perfect for a relaxing stroll or a quiet break from the city. The lush greenery, charming statues, and stunning glass palm house create a lovely atmosphere. A must-visit spot for nature lovers and history fans alike!

Located behind the Hofburg Palace, Burggarten is a former imperial garden designed in the English landscape style, with open lawns, sculptures, and winding walking paths. It is especially famous for the Mozart Monument, one of Vienna’s most photographed memorials. The park is also home to the elegant Art Nouveau Butterfly House, where hundreds of butterflies fly freely in a tropical setting. Nearby, the historic palm house now operates as a café and restaurant. With its calm and intimate atmosphere, the park is one of Vienna’s most beloved spaces for relaxation and quiet strolls.

Burggarten is such a nice place to slow down. There are beautiful spots for pictures, and the whole area is perfect for a little break. We were also lucky because the day we visited, there was an army exposition going on, which made it even more interesting.

Beautiful public park with lots of shade and even a pond in the middle for some cool breeze. In close proximity to supermarkets and some cafes and bars. Also very close to the Butterfly house, which is also beautiful. Very accessible with public transportation. Beautiful place to be on a hot summer day. Definitely safe to come here on your own as a woman and to just relax with a book or snacks for a few hours!
