This is the highlight of the museum itself. Since the museum is quite large and you will definitely spend a lot of time there, the opportunity to have a bite to eat with traditional Austrian dishes sounds like a dream. The combination of the beauty of the museum and delicious food will make your experience unforgettable. Of course you will have to wait, which is really logical, because there are still a lot of visitors here. For me, this was definitely the best choice. I ordered a classic Viennese schnitzel, Apfelschtrudel, and coffee. And everything was really very tasty. Since I have something to compare it to, I definitely give the dishes I chose a 10 out of 10. The service is as pleasant and attentive as possible, despite the large number of people, everything is done quickly enough. But even if you have to wait, it is absolutely normal. While you're waiting, you can take photos and enjoy the beauty of this place.

Very nice café inside the museum, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. The waiter had a very bad attitude towards guests, even though we spent over €34 and waited in the queue for 40 minutes. I also ordered a steak but was served a deep-fried dish instead. Overall, it was the worst meal I’ve had in Vienna, especially disappointing on Valentine’s Day. The coffee doesn’t rates goo and the food is too salty and oily… I highly do NOT recommend this place. I would suggest avoiding this waiter’s service — though I’m not sure whether the other staff have a similar attitude.

Severely underrated cafe. We had amazing service by Silvester at this beautiful cafe which served amazing food at reasonable prices. We have been to other museum cafes around the world which charge more for poorer quality food simply because it is a tourist destination. Our server was attentive and polite. We had the grilled fish (which was tender on the inside and crispy and thin skin on the outside) and the schnitzel (which was better than any other place we tried in Salzburg and Vienna). We also had the Cici cake and the Sacher cake which did not disappoint. Highly recommended but the queue can take a while so do factor in a few hours to comfortably queue, eat and browse the museum. The coffee latte and tea was also good.

Beautiful cafe with coffee, cakes, and larger plates. Yes, it's expensive, and yes, there will likely be a queue, but the service is friendly, my hot chocolate with orange liqueur warmed me up, and my Sacher Torte was delicious. But the location, in the atrium of this baroque masterpiece, under a beautiful domed ceiling is breathtaking and nowhere in the world compares. A truly Austrian experience. Worth it for the location.

Don’t be fooled by the elegant, fine dining descriptions of the food here. I ordered the Viennese Breakfast which included Viennese bone-in ham and a specialty cheese. What I got was cold lunch meat and sandwich cheese. Service was rude. Would rate lower if I could. Come here for the view and order tea. Avoid the food at all costs.
