I highly recommend Café Prückel for breakfast or brunch on the weekend. It's a good idea to make a reservation to guarantee a table, but if you arrive before 10 AM, it's usually still relatively quiet. The large, light-filled rooms with high ceilings give the café the charm of a Viennese coffeehouse while still maintaining a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious and offers a great selection of traditional options, including various egg dishes, fresh croissants, and a variety of sides. I highly recommend trying the yogurt with granola and berries. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Food and price were reasonable only. It was our mistake to come here for dinner. It was just a cafe good for drinks and cakes and chit chat. It was understaff and therefore service was slow as any other eating establishments. However, BEWARE, do not use cash to pay. There is no change for excess payment. I guess they think it’s always a tip without asking. Especially if you are a foreigner. BEWARE

Café Prückel is an absolute gem in Vienna! The historic charm, 1950s interior, and timeless atmosphere make it one of the best traditional coffee houses in the city. The coffee is excellent, the pastries are delicious, and the experience of sitting in such a beautifully preserved space is truly special. The service is classic Viennese—efficient and professional. I love how this café blends history with a vibrant cultural scene. Just watch the world go by from the large windows. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Viennese café culture!

Jumped in shortly before my flight so couldn't explore so much at this place. But, was happy about quick service, nice zweigelt :) and a dessert from my childhood. Nice Viennese atmosphere with live music, pleasantly crowded.

This has been for decades my number one Kaffeehaus. I recently had a chance to have breakfast here again. And Prückel impressed. Big time. Top class Melange, as you would expect. Excellent fresh bread with the delicious breakfast. Service as it should be, and the ambiance is as glamorous as I remembered it. Not too much just right. I enjoyed it immensely.
