Nice little small theater located outside the main city center area. We had tickets to the Vienna Boys Choir holiday show "Gute Hirten" and found the venue very nice, modern, and with friendly staff. Our seats (front row!) were temporary so the whole row moved a little if people moved quickly, but no harm. Free (small gratuity accepted) coat check downstairs and restrooms down another set of stairs. The show was GREAT and thoroughly enjoyed but were surprised by a couple of things. First, I did not realize they had female Vienna Boys Choir members now, but a lot of our performance was performed by female choirs and/or male/ female mixed choirs......which we were THRILLED to see and TBH, the female choir was more impressive than the boys. Secondly, for such a worldwide iconic name performing group, I was surprised that the choir wasn't in a more standard uniform. There were young men in long sleeve shirts/ short sleeve shirts/ rolled up sleeve shirts....some shirts tucked in, some untucked. Similarly, the young women wore skirts, pants, tiny revealing mini-skirts. Just the variety and lack of standard uniform made them feel less like a cohesive CHOIR. This obviously did not impact the excellent quality of the performers but was surprising nonetheless. Overall an excellent evening in a nice venue (one more interesting thing - no program provided - we had to go to the customer service desk to see the program and song titles).
I had an amazing experience at DAS MUTh Concert Hall. It’s a beautiful building with excellent acoustics and a great sound setup. The staff were very friendly and kind, which made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend this venue for concerts and cultural events.
I attended the Wiener Sängerknaben concert at MuTh yesterday, and overall, it was a captivating experience. The performance itself was certainly engaging and probably worth the VIP ticket price, despite the choristers seeming a little stressed at times ;) The atmosphere was pleasant, and the boys were sweet, though you could tell some were new recruits who haven't quite found their stage footing yet. The only real drawback was the organization of the ushers/staff. There were many elderly people in the audience who seemed genuinely confused and lost upon entering the hall, sitting in the wrong sections. I ended up trying to help as much as I could, speaking both German and English. It makes me wonder though, would it really be that difficult to have one extra person specifically dedicated to guiding guests properly inside the hall? This small addition would significantly improve the experience for everyone, especially older patrons. Aside from that one issue, everything else was great, even the prices at the nearby Café Maximilian were reasonable!
Loved the Gute Hirte Christmas concert! It was my introduction to Chorus JUVENTUS, and both they and the Vienna Boys’ Choir were stunning. The concert hall was smaller than I expected but had great acoustics. The coat check personnel were friendly & efficient. (It was free with donations accepted.) The refreshment and gift shop areas were crowded and loud at intermission—to be expected, but it made it too hard for me to think seriously about purchasing anything on the spot. Overall a fabulous experience which I recommend!
The show was very impressive. The staff were very helpful and organised. I personally enjoyed my visit there
