Dorotheum

Absolutely gorgeous space (!)..... A wonderfullllll galerie and store. And auction house. Oldest in Europe. Great collection of porcelain, glass, silver, furniture, antiquités, and a lot of paintings and so many more. It was my first visit here and i was two time in one day 💜 here. I bought wonderfull Augarten Wien porcelain. Nice gift wrapping and talking with friendly staff. Is it in the heart of Vienna.

This place is a must when in Vienna. The building is impressive and the collection of antiques very broad covering from painting to jewels passing though watches, ceramic, furniture and many other old objects. There is also a charming cafe on tbr top floor.

Best coffee stop in Vienna. Away from the crowds. Lovely staff. Beautiful building. An auction house with lots of fabulous things to look at. Highly recommend.

My review isn't about the Dorotheum as an auction house, but as a museum. As a tourist in Vienna, I didn't have time to wait for the auctions or participate in them, but upon entering this magnificent building, which I thought of as a luxury hotel, I discovered it was actually a... museum. And what a museum! If you have enough time in Vienna, I highly recommend spending some time here; it fully deserves its place in the top 10 attractions in Vienna. It's almost a must-see in Vienna. The selection of previously owned items is sparse. No enough live auctions! Too much focus on on-line sales and mass produced new merchandise. The Kundendienst dept. Is superb! The building itself is worth a visit!
