Eissalon TICHY

Café Tichy is a classic spot with a nostalgic charm. Known for its iconic Eismarillenknödel, it delivers a unique and delicious treat you won’t easily find elsewhere. Service is quick and efficient, though the atmosphere can feel a bit old-fashioned. Definitely worth a visit for the dessert alone.

Tichy was a place we planned to go to while in Vienna, and it lived up to the reputation!!! Absolutely loved it. Our absolutely favorite ice cream ever. Our favorite was one we did not expect, it was the spaghetti. A huge variety of flavor in every bite. We still talk about it. We enjoyed it enough that we went there twice.

Famous and probably the best ice cream restaurant in Vienna. Outside city center but worthy to take a trip and taste delicious ice cream in various flavors and combinations. It is near a metro station, staff are very kind and prices are correct. Strongly recommend!

Individual ice cream scoops were great. Last time we took chocolate, mango and it was great. Today we went inside and took Banana split and Apricot ice cream knodl. Compared to individual ice creams these both were a disappointment. Apricot knodl didn’t come served as shown. 2 came in one bowl and 3rd in a separate. Banana split was 50% whipped cream with half a banana. It was a disappointment. Next time I will take chocolate and mango again. Service was the worst. Every one was checking all the time if people were done and asking if they are done to take the bowls. I ordered a coffee and the lady almost took it even that I had half a coffee inside. Also she put the bill on the table and then took it with her after I paid. The bill belongs to the customer and should not be taken away unless the customer said it is fine. Lastly, payment is only possible with cash only which is strange. Payment with cash is not possible in 2026. Final saying, good ice cream, not so pleasant experience with the people working. They can definitely improve starting with allowing payment with a card, leaving a bill to the customer and letting people enjoy their stay without the pressure to go.

An ice cream version of the famous apricot dumpling: the Eis Marillen Knödel. A tangy, dense apricot ice cream centre surrounded by creamy vanilla ice cream, dusted with crushed hazelnuts. Definitely a must in Vienna! Cash only, and you can dine in or at the park nearby.
