Our favorite spot for authentic Austrian cuisine - made even better by the talent of the wonderful chef and hospitality of the owner Christian. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming, creating the full Viennese Gasthaus experience from the moment you arrive. The food is consistently outstanding, with perfectly portioned dishes and a menu that rotates to keep things fresh and exciting. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, making every visit feel special. Just note that they aren’t open on weekends. Highly recommended.

I had high expectations of this place because I go to the Kansas City, Missouri Grunauer often and it's excellent every time! They did not let me down, food service and quaint atmosphere was great! Thanks to Jules, Christopher and all the staff for making us feel welcome. I will never forget it!

From June 5, 2025: My daughter did her homework in selecting this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic once we had the menu translated for us because Google translate did not work at all to decipher it for us. The waiter was very accommodating and made suggestions for us to consider. We would definitely come back here. We tell all of our friends about Gasthaus and this excellent dining experience.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Vienna. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The owner very kind and welcoming. I had the blood sausage spring rolls and Ox tail with cheesy bread dumplings. Food was just incredible. The service was also great. If you are looking for amazing Austrian+Viennese cuisine then you must eat here! Pro tip-You must call to make a reservation.

best restaurant around without any doubts. very typical kitchen and menu written by hand and explained carefully by the amazing and kind staff. everything was good and we paid a fair price (70 euro for two, four dishes and two small beers).
