Good, hearty Austrian food. I cant tell you how authentic it is but this place had a very rustic-taverny feel, it felt like i had stepped back in time when I entered. Felt very out of place in Viennas tourist centre (3 minutes from the state opera). I went for the pork schnitzel which needed a good shake of salt and pepper but had a lovely crisp. The waiter allowed me to swap my salad for a potato salad (I had read this was more traditional) which paired really well as it was light and tangy. Overall great food, friendly service and very reasonably priced for the location!

Lovely simple Austrian food. Attentive and helpful service. Understandably popular with locals. The tables are large so be prepared to share with others if you're alone or in a couple - which all adds to the experience. Highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant to try traditional Austrian food, and overall it was a really nice experience. We ordered a pork schnitzel and a sausage (wurst). The portions were big and satisfying. The sausage came with cabbage that had a bit of a unique taste — not something everyone will love, but I personally found it interesting. The sides (salad and potato salad) were fresh, and we also enjoyed some beers with the meal. The line outside was quite long. We came without a reservation and waited around 20-30minutes to be seated. The waiters were polite and everything went smoothly. About the seating: they use a shared-table system. If you’re a couple, they’ll seat you at any larger table where two seats are free, even if other guests are already sitting there. It’s normal for this place, but it can feel a bit unusual if you’re not expecting it. Luckily, we sat next to a lovely older couple, so it turned out fine. If you insist on having your own private table, be prepared to wait a very long time. The atmosphere inside is cozy, traditional, and a bit vintage, which I really liked. Overall, great food and a nice experience! I would definitely suggest making a reservation if you want to avoid the long queue.

I tried the Wiener schnitzel. The beef was very soft and delicious, and I really liked it. However, the dish didn’t come with salad or potatoes. It was quite expensive, and the atmosphere wasn’t very comfortable

This is a great restaurant located in a very accessible area. The food was excellent and the prices were not too expensive. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it!
