Haus des Meeres

We visited with our children, and we were all absolutely amazed. This is not a typical zoo or aquarium – you feel like you're right in the middle of the experience instead of just looking at it from the outside. Our children especially loved seeing the fish and even the corals up close. They couldn't stop saying, "Wow, look at this!" and "Come here, you have to see this!" It was truly an unforgettable experience for them. Right from the entrance, you can tell how family-friendly the place is. There is a dedicated area to leave strollers and lockers where you can safely store your valuables, making the visit very convenient for families. I would also like to praise the staff. Every employee we met was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. They made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. The entire facility was spotless. All of the aquariums and tanks were exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained with great attention to detail. We were especially impressed by the mangrove exhibit, which was stunning and looked very natural. We finished our visit with a meal at the restaurant, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Overall, it was an amazing experience for the whole family. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Interesting aquarium with some nice exhibits, but the main elevator was out of service during our visit. Since the building is designed to be explored floor by floor, this meant climbing multiple flights of stairs throughout the visit. There were other elevators, but they were not obvious or convenient to use as you moved between exhibits. If you have mobility issues or simply aren't prepared for a lot of stairs, this is something to be aware of. Also, some of the areas would be kinda hard to maneuver in a wheel chair especially is particularly busy with little kids running around and strollers. All the staff we interacted with were nice. Its a good visit and good calves workout

We visited Haus des Meeres during our family trip and were completely blown away. What an extraordinary place, an entire aquarium and terrarium built inside a massive WWII-era flak tower. The history of the building alone makes it worth a visit, but what's inside takes it to another level entirely. Floor after floor of stunning sea life, tropical fish, sharks, rays, reptiles, and exotic birds, our son was glued to every single exhibit. The underwater tunnels and large tanks are breathtaking, and the variety of species on display is genuinely impressive. It has a very different vibe from a traditional aquarium, more intimate, more surprising, and somehow more exciting because of the unusual setting. Every level brings something new and unexpected. The rooftop area is a lovely bonus with great views over the city, perfect for catching your breath between all the excitement. If you're visiting Vienna with family, this is an absolute must. One of those places that stays with you long after you leave.

Long story short, this place is super cool. On the first floor. I was thinking about the ticket price with a little bit of deception, but I kept going up, the more you go up, the more it gets fun. The jewel for me is the monkeys floors, you get in the special zone and end up with small black monkeys and they are used to humans. The rooftop bar/restaurant offers a really nice view (no need to enter the restaurant if you only want the view). Advice: buy your ticket online, you get a specific entry time and a fast lane

Went here for my first night in Vienna since it was close to my hotel and closed relatively late at 8PM compared to 6PM for most of the other attractions. Really enjoyed my time here, its a very big aquarium for its admission price and they even have alligators, lemurs and axolotls that I saw here for the very first time. They do not accept the Vienna city card but if you are a student you can get a pretty sizeable discount by presenting your student ID card. It doesnt need to be from an Austiran university either, I gave the front desk worker my American one and got the discount just fine. The higher levels offer pretty great views of the city too.
