Heidi Horten Collection

Visited the Heidi Horten Collection in Vienna today — genuinely impressive. You get Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and a surprisingly strong lineup of modern and contemporary artists in a beautifully curated space. The foundation also doesn’t shy away from reflecting on its own history, which adds an important layer to the experience. Well done, thoughtfully presented, fairly priced — and honestly a must-visit if you’re in Vienna. Also: museum lighting = unexpectedly great selfie conditions.

Some really fine pieces of 20th century art. Basquiat, Warhol, Magritte, Lichtenstein, Klimt, Bacon and many more. Great collection in a really interesting space which adds much to the experience.

One of my favorite museums in Vienna, you can't miss this one The collection is superb and exhibitions are always surprising. Highly recommend!

Heidi Horten Collection is an interesting place. Honestly, I wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t free with the Vienna Pass, but I’m glad I did. The museum features a lot of modern art, and I actually enjoyed the visit.

It is actually a real hidden jewell right across the Albertina. Holds an amazing collection of paintings with an even more amazing history. Not too big, easily accessible and currently quiet in terms of crowds and tourists.
