Grand Ferdinand in Vienna: Fantastic Weekend Getaway in the Heart of Vienna! We stayed at the Grand Ferdinand from Friday to Monday and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was pleasant, and the staff were incredibly helpful with everything we needed. The location is unbeatable. It is perfectly situated, making it very easy and convenient to walk to the Old Town and explore the city. Despite being so central, our room was surprisingly quiet, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable, and we really appreciated the spacious and roomy bathroom. One of the highlights was definitely the food. The breakfast was excellent, especially enjoying it on the 8th floor with a stunning view over the city of Vienna. We also took advantage of the dinner option at the hotel's restaurant, which was equally delicious and a lovely experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vienna! We will definitely be back.
Big comfy bed, stylish room, if a little quirky - high ceilings, glass block shower enclosure facing the bed. Black decor with white fixtures. This hotel seems very solid with heavy doors everywhere. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Not sure about the shutters instead of curtains, but overall it works and we had a nice stay for 4 nights. Small fridge in the room. There is a Spar Gourmet shop nearby so you can get yourself some fruit, juices or yoghurt if you like.
We stayed at the hotel very spontaneously and just loved it! The room was very nice as is the whole hotel, modern but with a very classy touch! Very friendly stuff and the location is just perfect at the Ring. The only critics we had was breakfast: the price at the desk is one, at the restaurant it is even higher, too high even for the level of the hotel in comparison to all the excellent alternatives around at cafes and restaurants... but we enjoyed our stay really very much and pretend to come back!
- The hotel lacks Shampoo and conditioner, a single bottle of hair and body wash is in the shower which is very strange for a hotel of this standard. Hair and body wash is used by teenage boys after gym not adults staying at a luxury hotel. - Our room offered coffee capsules and tea bags, there were how ever no water boiler, how is a guest supposed to make tea? The coffee capsules did not get restocked while we stayed there for 4 nights and five days. - We used the small water bottles in the minibar to make coffee and those bottles did not get restocked either. - The cleaning of the room is under question, nothing was picked up off the floor expect towels. No socks, no pants, absolutely nothing. Empty bag of candy was left on the counter for days. The only thing the cleaning staff did was make the bed and change towels. - Our room Charmant Chic was toward the "yard" /inner side of the building where we could see the restaurant/kitchen. The daily horrible sound of moving stuff around was nothing we looked forward to, specially at 8 AM on a Saturday morning which went on for at last 30 minutes. + The room was spacious and had high ceiling. + Good location + Friendly staff + The bar on the 8th floor has good drinks and great view for new year's eve!
We stayed here for a full week in January. The weather was cold but nice. Snow on the ground and rooftops looked pretty for the area. Hotel was like some reviews mentioned kind of quirky but nice. Lobby could be set up nicer. Reception desk is located around the corner in a weird spot. The restaurant attached is very nice but we never tried the food however it was always packed. The restaurant on 8th floor had a great view and nice atmosphere. Breakfast is served in this area with great food options. Pool also on 8th floor looked great but not in season obviously. Our room was nice but set up different. Very European and had a cool vibe. Shower felt amazing and had good pressure with very hot water. Beds were comfortable and temp control was easy to maintain. Our room faced the middle courtyard area and windows could be opened slightly which is nice touch (Helped when room became a little stuffy) we had a good time and hotel staff friendly and helpful. Most spoke decent English so easy to communicate with. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants/cafes etc. and using public transport. We would definitely stay here again.
