We were pleasantly surprised! The Imperial Carriage Museum was fanciful and educational all in one. It was like walking through the story of Cinderella. Enjoying the elegant carriages (with detailed descriptions) would have been more than enough for me, so the royal clothing and digital exhibits were just the icing on the cake! We visited after our tour of Schonbrunn Palace so it was midday when we arrived but it still wasn't even slightly crowded. The ability to explore this museum in peace and quiet without being jostled by large crowds is highly underrated.

Meticulously maintained museum, beautiful displays. Good storyteller on the numerous screens for the ones who want the details. Very original, did not see this type of presentation before. Well done!

A fascinating museum showcasing the imperial carriages of the Habsburg era, located next to Schönbrunn Palace. The collection is impressive, with beautifully preserved coaches, ceremonial vehicles, and royal sleighs that really bring imperial history to life. The exhibition is easy to follow and engaging, especially for younger visitors — our daughter loved it. A great stop if you’re visiting Schönbrunn and want something a bit different from the palace interiors.
