Reviews
This is a remarkable museum went late morning. It was not crowded at all. You had as much time as you want with any item I had advanced tickets, but there was no need. You could have purchased tickets at the door that spent about three hours there you could've spent weeks the collection is astounding.
One of the most beautiful Museum I have ever been. Full of elegance, history, religion! Amazing and especially if you are interested in Christianity or precious stones and then one of the best places to be in Europe
This museum, located next to the Hofburg Chapel (Hofburgkapelle), displays the treasures and symbols of power of the Habsburg dynasty. The collection is divided into two main sections: the personal treasures of the Habsburg emperors and the Imperial Regalia of the Holy Roman Empire, including the imperial crown. More than a display of luxury objects, the museum presents the visual language of power—how the Habsburgs represented authority, legitimacy, and divine right across Europe. ※ Included in the Bundesmuseen Card.
This was very interesting but.... For the entrance price I thought it was expensive for what you see. If you didn't want to read about the displays I think you could be in and out in a half hour. Reading and looking at the displays was an hour and a bit. I think with the audio tour would have been best but that is extra. There was some really amazing things to see. I loved seeing the uncut gems and the crowns they have are so interesting! The textiles were very interesting too, it's crazy to think how old some of them are and the craftsmanship that went into them.
The Imperial Treasury is interesting, with a strong focus on royal and religious garments. If you’re expecting to see a large collection of royal jewels, you may be disappointed, as only a few are on display. That said, the pieces are incredibly well preserved, especially considering their age. I was a bit let down by the limited jewels and the heavy emphasis on religious items, but overall the visit was fine and worth seeing if you’re interested in imperial history.
