Reviews
This place is NOT PET FRIENDLY and will not accept even an assistance dog! We made a reservation for dinner for two and we were much looking forward to our dinner when we had the very unpleasant surprise of a bossy Spanish lady not allowing us to the table due to my small (8kg), trained, very well behaved assistance dog. I explained to her that this is an assistance dog that will simply sleep under the table and that we made a reservation. She did not allow us to stay at the reserved table, saying she was sorry but we have to leave. I told her this is discrimination since I need my assistance dog and she insisted on an acute tone that this is not discrimination. What an unpleasant experience, unfriendly staff! Sadly it is one of the few restaurants in Vienna that hasn´t caught up on the modern world with regards to pets and, even worse, assistance dogs, discriminating against those who need a trained assistance dog by their side at all times! P.S. To Lola Team Response: 1. I clearly said it is an assistance dog. You understood and you said we have to leave. So did I have the chance to show you the documentation of the assistance dog? No I did not. Or are you now changing the story for the sake of your publicity? And yes, it is discrimination because you don't give the chance to people who have a disability and in need of an assistance dog to take a seat at your place! You immediately said we have to leave after I said it is an assistance dog, EVEN WHEN I MENTIONED I CAN SHOW YOU THE DOCUMENTATION YOU CONTITNUED SAYING WE CANNOT STAY. It was a very disappointing experience. You could at least own up and be honest about the situation, hypocrisy is not helping you much. In Vienna all restaurants, bars, cafes, no matter how small allow dogs without any problems or fuss. But somehow it is only the Lola Restaurant and its team who has a problem with it. I already mentioned this disappointment to my pet friendly community, many of whom also happen to be restaurant reviewers and they are also yucked out about this attitude and of course not interested in visiting you. And will further ensure to use my influence to guide people towards more friendly places!
Unfortunately forgot to take many pictures, but this little slice of Spain was an absolute highlight of our trip to Vienna. Service was impeccable, so welcoming and friendly and all dishes were delicious - the Gambas pil pil were a highlight, but the tortilla was the fluffiest I've ever had!
I could not think of a better place to eat Spanish food, traditional but of high quality. Clásicos! And their extremely friendly owners provide amazing service to make you feel welcomed and enjoy your evening there. I didn’t order to try new things, but to fill the heart with lovely simple food I ve tried one after another over the years. This is the place that if i lived by, i would be a recurrent customer. To conclude, their food is soo good that even id their were anywhere in Spain, they will be as full as they are (so book ahead).
We had a very lovely evening at this authentic Spanish restaurant. The dinner was amazing, especially the Gambas Pil Pil, which is my favourite Spanish tapas, but it was especially good at this restaurant. We were so full that we were not sure if we should order dessert, but we did it anyways and it was the best decision, the Crema Catalana was the highlight of our dinner. :) The service was amazing as well, both waiters were super nice and attentive, the waiter even recognized our language and said some words to us in Hungarian. :)) We will come back to this restaurant for sure, it is 100% recommended!
Fantastic traditional Spanish tapas, the dishes were authentic and tastes spectacular, it feels like going to Spain! The restaurant was cozy and the staff were extremely friendly! The octopus and tuna dishes really stood out. The only small suggestion is to serve the bread warm and more options (as most of the main dishes were not available).
