Loos American Bar

Don't worry about being called old-fashioned," says the architect Adolf Loos about this small, charming cocktail bar in the heart of Vienna. Since there's not much space inside, if you manage to snag a good spot early on, I think you'll have a great time. It's a place I'll definitely visit again when I return to Vienna, and I recommend it to everyone.

A tiny bar dating back to 1908 designed by an architect called Loos hence the name. About 6 x 4 m in size inside, the use of lighting and mirrors gives the impression that the bar is bigger. There are also seats outside. Cocktails in range of €12.50 to €16 or €17. We paid in cash though I think there is a minimum spend of €30 on cards.

I visited this bar last Saturday with a friend, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. I paid for three drinks €45 with my card, but when I checked my bank statement, I was charged €50 — an extra €5 that the server clearly took advantage of, likely because I had been drinking. It’s dishonest and unprofessional! The first cocktail I ordered was awful, and I couldn’t drink it. The staff didn’t seem to care at all; the drink sat on the table for two hours without anyone addressing it. The second cocktail was decent, but definitely not worth the price. The bar was extremely crowded, which made it impossible to enjoy our evening. There was no privacy to have a conversation, and the overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the ladies’ restroom was out of service, so we had to use the men’s one. It was dirty, with a lack of hygiene… I do not recommend this bar.

Loos American Bar offers a fantastic cocktail experience, with friendly and attentive staff that make you feel right at home. The quality of the drinks is top-tier, and the ambiance is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a classic cocktail in a stylish, yet welcoming environment. Highly recommended!

Hello, so we had three different cocktails. We do know how it’s supposed to taste, but it was almost all the same. I don’t know what they put inside but it wasn’t nice. We had two cocktails on a whiskey and one on a rom……….. Service wasn’t friendly, they didn’t even bring for us water till we asked. Sadly that for this prices, we got no service and no good cocktails. And at the end when we pointed it out to them, they just replied with(okay)🙃. So guys I don’t recommend it at all even if it’s historical bar it’s not worse it.
