Reviews
Lugeck was an absolute delight. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The burger was excellent, and the truffle mayo with the fries was irresistible. Whatever you do, order the potato salad—it was the unexpected star of the entire meal. Even though we were already full, we couldn’t resist the warm strudel, and it was completely worth it—comforting, flavorful, and the perfect finish. The restaurant was busy, but the service was exceptional. Despite having no reservation, we only waited about 10–15 minutes. The atmosphere is lovely both inside and out, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend dining here—you won’t be disappointed.
Dine here if you’re looking for a beautiful spot with elegant decor, delicious food, and no wait. The perfect alternative to Figlmüller when you’re craving schnitzel without the queue. I’d happily come back again if I were nearby. We didn’t feel like waiting in the never-ending line at Figlmüller, so we ducked into Lugeck instead, and it turned out to be a great call. We were seated right away in a stunning room with tall ceilings and modern, clean design. The service was friendly and unhurried, just the kind that makes you settle in and exhale. The seasonal goose soup was fantastic: rich, flavorful, and a touch salty, as Austrian soups tend to be, but deeply satisfying. The Viennese beef consommé was also lovely, though we slightly preferred the goose. Then came the truffle pork schnitzel, the star of the show. Tender and juicy, topped with generous shavings of black truffle, and served as two pieces, perfect for sharing. This wasn’t the juiciest pork schnitzel I’ve had in Austria, but it was the most unique. One soup each and a schnitzel to share was just the right amount for lunch, comforting and hearty while still leaving room for dessert.
We stopped by Lugeck for lunch and it was such a great experience. The place was bustling! Definitely a popular spot, and even though there was a short wait, it moved quickly and was well worth it once we were seated. The atmosphere has that classic Viennese charm with a modern touch, and the service was friendly and efficient from start to finish. I ordered the schnitzel burger, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The meat was crisp on the outside, tender inside, and paired perfectly with the soft bun and condiments. The potato salad on the side was balanced and flavorful… tangy, creamy, and not too heavy. It felt like a true classic with just the right amount of twist. My husband got the beef with fried onions and potatoes, and it was also excellent! Tender, hearty, and full of flavor. You could tell everything was made fresh and with care. Overall, Lugeck delivered on every front: great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere. A solid 10/10. Definitely worth the stop for a fresh, satisfying meal in Vienna.
The best schnitzel you can eat in the world. If there is something better than that, it is potato salad. I fell in love. The service is bad, the order taking process is very laborious. If you want a drink after dinner, you may have to wait at least 15 minutes. Closed bottle coke is included in this. I think the biggest reason for this is that the place is crowded. All the tables inside are full. However, I think the number of employees is insufficient. We had to wait a very long time to pay after dinner. Keep in mind that it is necessary to make a reservation.
The food was great, prices are high but expected. The biggest downside was that we were seated at very small and crowded table that you could barely move without hitting the other table’s chair. We had a reservation with 2 weeks prior.
