MAST Weinbistro

This was our first visit to MAST Weinbistro, and we chose the six-course chef’s choice menu. From the very beginning, the interior, atmosphere, and even the temperature of the room felt perfectly balanced, setting the stage for an amazing culinary journey. Each dish tells a story through its ingredients. You can truly taste the seasonality and freshness, which makes every course feel special and thoughtfully composed. The wine list is impressive and well curated. The service is polite, warm, and attentive to detail, yet never intrusive. You feel completely relaxed and free to enjoy the dinner at your own pace. We would definitely recommend this place and are already looking forward to our next visit.

We decided to have a nice birthday dinner, choosing the chef choice of 6 dishes and the wine pairing. All dishes were delicious, but more importantly the wine pairing was exactly right. Our top dishes were definitely beetroot tartar, salmon and smoked fish empanadas. The service was very kind and they even brought a candle in our desserts. Their knowledge of wines is exceptional. All the other guests seemed to also enjoy their time. We left stuffed and happy. Thank you for the evening!

My wife and I had a tremendous meal at the charming MAST Weinbistro in October. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and enjoyed excellent, friendly and professional service throughout our dinner. We started with exceptional sourdough with raw milk butter and cheese sausage “bar snack.” We had delicious appetizers of chick peas and fennel and pumpkin and feta. The dessert of apple sorbet and dark chocolate was amazing, too. The quality of the ingredients and the skilled preparation were evident in each dish. As one would expect, the wine offerings were splendid as well. We would happily return to the MAST Weinbistro on our next trip to Vienna.

Beautiful restaurant I have been wanting to visit for a long time but never book far enough ahead. Ordered a la carte since we are vegetarian/gluten-free between us which is difficult for set-menus. 1 dish from each section was enough to fill us up. The bread and butter was awesome (also a gluten-free bread), beetroot dish, and especially the pulled pork / Wildschwein was delicious and paired perfectly with the recommended wines by Bettina(?). Service was amazing and very accomodating. Looking forward to returning when the menu is changed up again, which as I heard, is not so long between changes!

Really wanted to like this place but the food and flavour combinations just didn't work. I don't feel that the chef really understands or respect the ingredients they work with. We ordered all the plant based items on the menu, and 85% of the vegetables were treated the same way. At the end of the meal, it just felt like we had a series of 5 braised vegetables dishes all of which were texturally similar - fennel, beetroot, salsify, cabbage and cauliflower. Overall, the dishes lacked contrast and confidence. Utterly boring and uninspired unfortunately - and expensive at that. Maybe our fault for ordering the vegetable dishes, but a restaurant of this calibre should understand light and shade.
