Reviews
The Go-To spot for Schnitzel in Vienna! I went to Meierei for lunch with three persons and we were blown away by its high quality Schnitzels. The quality of the side dishes and service were also outstanding not to mention the beautiful location on the bank of the canal. Overall, the best choice in town for Schnitzel with Michelin vibes.
We went there for lunch with the expectation to find exceptional food and caring, personal and attentive service. Good news. The main courses of Carp, Wiener Schnitzel and Beef Tartare as well as the selection of cheeses was excellent and honored the reputation. Dessert (millirahmstrudel) as well as coffee were also very good. Bread was good. The starters were u forty lately both below expectations in terms of composition and execution. However, service was simply not acceptable, prompting me to write this review. Drinks were served repeatedly in a bottle but without glasses, tea was brought without a cup, when the cup was requested, it arrived without a saucer. Service was not managed, disjointed which made the poor and few waitstaff simply drown. No supervisor in the room during our 4 (!!!) hour lunch, no feedback requested, no goodbye. Such a beautiful place, but left on its own devices.. .
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Meierei, opting for the tasting menu. In addition to the great flavors and presentation of each dish, the portion sizes were good (something of an issue with tasting menus). The service was impeccable and ambiance is lovely. Tucked away, inside a park, the whole experience feels high end.
This is an absolute must do if you visit vienna. Their meals are simply sublime. We ordered some of their milk offerings like the strawberry, banana, and lavender milk. All three were amazing. I got a glass of St Laurent red wine with their beef goulash and their lamb fillet. Best goulash in vienna i have had. For the quality and execution of their dishes, the price is worth it.
On our last night in Vienna on the way home back to Singapore, we found a great restaurant near our hotel. We will warmly welcome as it was early at 6 pm for dinner. This is our third time in Vienna, and I did not eat Weiner Schnitzel this trip and the last. We decided to order as recommended, and it is definitely one of the best, not oily, thinly breaded, and succulent. The fish was fresh and nicely presented. The dessert of Kaiserschmarrn was another best, soft and melt in the mouth. Hats off to the chefs. Semi, who attended to us, is very friendly with an infectious smile. Thank you for making our meal comfortable and enjoyable. Sadly, we missed the cheeses, which the restaurant has wide selections. The next trip to Vienna, we will definitely walk here for breakfast (Marriot, Intercontinental, and Hilton Am Parkring hotels are near Stadtpark). The restaurant opens at 8 am in the morning with a view of Stadtpark, and you can sit at the balcony if the weather permits.
