Reviews
We visited this restaurant to try their schnitzel, but unfortunately, it was below average in terms of taste and quality. The breading lacked crispiness, and the overall flavor was disappointing. Considering the quality, the prices were extremely high, making it feel like poor value for money. The ambiance of the place was fairly ordinary—neither particularly impressive nor unpleasant. The staff, however, were polite and attentive, which was the only positive aspect of the experience. Overall, it was a subpar experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to others, especially given the price-to-quality ratio.
This is the latest of Plachuttas restaurants, location is very central in a nicely decorated space. Food is amazing. As starters we had marinated tafelspitz (delicious) and veal&mozzarella sausage (also very good). The main course was the house’s specialty - schnitzel. The only negative thing is that tables are too close next to each other and it is quite noisy.
After living in Vienna for so long, I finally decided to try Plachutta – specifically their new location at Neuer Markt. People always rave about their "Tafelspitz," but to my surprise, this location doesn’t have it on the menu. Instead, I went for the "Beef Fillet Steak With Mushroom Marrow Crust", and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious. The only downside? The portion felt a bit small for the price. What really stood out during my visit was the service. From the moment my friend and I walked in, to the delivery of the food, all the way to the goodbye, our waiter was exceptional. Impeccable service like this deserves a shoutout and definitely elevated the overall experience. As for the ambiance, this location felt a bit different from what I expected. It lacked the traditional Austrian charm that Plachutta is known for and gave off more of a large dining room vibe. The space felt a bit cramped, which took away from the coziness you’d hope for in a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, it was a good first experience at Plachutta, but I’m curious to try out their other locations to see how they compare. The food and service are certainly worth exploring further!
One of the best schnitzels I’ve ever had; it was so tasty, not heavy, with a perfect ambiance and great hospitality. I will definitely come back again. PS: eat with cranberry sauce, it was the first time I ve ever had and I really liked the combination of the sauce and schnitzel.
One of the best veal schnitzel I had! The chicken was also good, service was very good, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was super, it is a fine dining establishment and you do feel it.
