Restaurant JOLA

My wife and I went to JOLA in Spring 2024 and had maybe the best meal of our lives. We just returned last week and had just as great an experience, perhaps even better, with a completely different mix of ingredients. The food is an incomparable blend of technically perfect while amazingly imaginative, and the ingredients, sourced from around Austria, are fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, and the service and hospitality are unmatched. We were surprised and delighted to find the staff remembered us from our previous visit more then two years earlier. JOLA is a must for anyone in or around Vienna at any point.

Excellent food, totally deserving of the Michelin star. I especially loved the snacks and desserts. All the savoury dishes were deeply umami-forward and so different from classic vegan food. The ambiance is calm and pleasant without being overly posh. The staff is great as well.

Absolut perfect food, for me the best vegan menu one can get in Vienna. Beautiful and warm atmosphere warm wood indirect lightning not to dark but just right, music was not to loud and was perfect to feel homely The Surprise Degustation Menu was spot on, the mix between texture, temperature and taste was amazing the creativity and especially the love for food could be felt in every bite! An extraordinary experience. Each dish is a small work of art with a lot of thought, precision and creativity. The service is precise, generous and smiling and the desserts were a perfect ending.

We’ve dined in excellent and accredited restaurants in multiple European countries, and this is the best meal we have ever had. It is, quite simply, magic on multiple plates. Don’t pass up the opportunity to witness plating - it made the evening even more special. Thank you Lara, Jonathan and the superb team.
