Reviews
Great place for lunch! We had the Backhaendl’, Schinkenfleckl’ and Kaiserschmarren! All were great, Backhaendl’ was the best. 48€ with three drinks was also not that expensive. We didn’t have a reservation and got a place at 1:45pm. Will come again for sure and highly recommend it!
This place opens at 9am, which makes it ideal to enjoy a stylish breakfast in a nice setting with of course the stunning views as the main attraction!
This place has a beautiful view but really bad service. The lemonade was great but the food was over salted. You need to be patient when comes to service. Waiters may not attend you for some time even after approaching them, we asked to clean our table several times but wasn’t really done either.
Overpriced, and poor customer service! We had friends visiting Vienna so we thought this would be a great place to meet and enjoy some coffee, drinks and sweets overlooking the city. The view and the restoration of the place are amazing, but all the rest fail to impress. There where many members of staff around, however the service was very slow, and also got the wrong order, even got the coffee spilled. Tried a couple of wines, all poor quality at high price. Would suggest to have someone amiable as a host.
This is a really clear example what bad management can do with a beautiful location and space. The views are great, the interior is really nice, but understaff to the point where it’s painful to watch it as a guest. Waiting to be seated, waiting to order, after that we waited 40 minutes for the drinks to be brought and alltogether an hour and a bit for our breakfast to be served. We also did not get everything that was a part of the breakfast, with no explanation. When we asked about it, the answer was “oh yeah, we ran out of it already, this is what you get in this case”. Keep in mind, this was one hour after the place opened. From what we could tell 90% of the tables were reservations, and the restaurant was still only 2/3 full. But with so little staff, there was no way that the service could work well. And when you run a place on reservations and you still make the serving staff work under so much stress, there are no excuses for it. This used to be a great place to go to, now we will stop coming, because it’s being ran like this for a while now, and it does not look as it it’s going to get any better. I also do not like to support businesses that treat their staff and their guests like this.
