Reviews
Well organized, attractive, but rather crowded (even now, in winter). They have a little bit cheaper tickets for children and students, but there are no special prices for seniors. I have also noticed a lot of replicas (signaled as replicas for conservation reasons).
This was relatively easy to get into. I was able to get a ticket about 15 min before online for the time slot. They also let me in earlier when I arrived. The museum was nice with a lot of sisi history and it was relatively short (finished everything in an hour). If you are interested in learning about sisi fashion and just seeing the imperial apartments in the palace - I would recommend to go.
The Sissi exhibition is quite small and showcases only a handful of personal items, mainly dresses. It is such a pity that such an iconic royalty figure can be reduced to such a small exhibition. I was quite disappointed. The Kaiser apartments are nice, but I have seen grander palaces throughout Europe, mainly Madrid and Paris. The exhibition shows you only a handful of rooms on the same level. Hard to believe the Royal Family, only lived on a floor in the entire palace. Some of the rooms are completely void of furniture or any accessories.
A great experience to see and understand the Austrian Royal history of Sissi and all the myths around her. You will get an audio guide which has short but interesting information about the rooms and things you can see. I would highly recommend to book in advance, because there is a limit for the tickets.
The museum is very beautiful but very expensive like most in Vienna. It has personal belongings of Princess Sisi, describes her life and tour of some rooms of the palace! Excellent museum worth a visit the one star less is solely the price
