Reviews
The museum offers an impressive and thoughtfully curated collection of artifacts related to the famous film. It conveys the atmosphere of pre-war and post-war Vienna with remarkable accuracy, providing rich historical and cultural context. Even visitors who are not familiar with the movie will find the exhibition engaging and well worth exploring.
Great museum both for fans of the film and really for anyone interested in post war Vienna. Lots of unique memorabilia and some fun photo opportunities. Not huge and split between three buildings but the staff is lovely and helpful and makes it super easy. It was very quiet when we went at opening time on a Saturday. Highly recommend.
Excellent museum about the classic film and postwar Vienna. This is a comprehensive private collection of all things related to the film, The Third Man. The exhibits also take a lot of care to place the story in its historical context. This is a must see for fans of cinema and postwar European history.
I was planning on being in Vienna for a few days and when I saw there was a Third Man Museum there it made my trip so much more exciting. And the museum, not only didn't disappoint, it exceeded my expectations. This place was awesome and is clearly the work of someone who loves Vienna and the movie - and couldn't be possible without the support of those who love him.
WOW! Not just a museum about The Third Man, they have a tremendous amount of historical artifacts about Vienna during Post-War reconstruction. The owners Karin and Gerhard are incredibly nice and will answer any questions and ask if you saw certain museum displays. Pro-tip - Go here FIRST, buy their filming locations book and then explore Vienna.
