Weltmuseum Wien

The majestic Hofburg Palace, which houses several interesting museums. The main, largest and most diverse museum is the Weltmuseum. This museum has thousands of ethnographic exhibits from different peoples of Africa, Asia, America, a huge exhibition of knightly armor and a huge collection of musical instruments. You need to plan a few hours to visit this museum. There is a cafe on the first floor. Admission costs 16€. Everyone will be very interested, even children, everyone will find something for themselves.

An amazing collection of medieval armoury, weapons and musical instruments. By far the most attractive section is the one housing Scanderbeg helmet and sword dating back to XV century.

Amazing place with so many things to see. For sure you need more time and comfortable shoes there. You can see there a lot of information about Camels and Lamas, history of Peru, Indian, Japan, China and much more. What I didn’t like was to find a proper way of sightseeing to see everything and not coming back to previous rooms.

Amaizing museum with very important and interesting artifacts. The imperial armoury is very great. Shpata e Gjergj Kastriotit is a highlight🇦🇱.

Now THIS…is a museum! It’s perfect in every way. Easy to get in, easy to navigate, well plotted out for easy navigation and the most elegant displays I’ve ever seen. And that's saying a lot… I worked for the NHM in San Diego for years… and I’ve been to more museums around the world than anyone I know in my circle of friends. The marble pillars and floors, the exquisite architecture, the painted ceilings and adorable gift shop… there is not one thing I could improve or change… there is even a cafe with seating in the great atrium. Be prepared to see and learn about some artifacts collected/gifted/acquired from far reaches of the planet and then displayed with care, attention and admiration deserving of the greatness these pieces offer and a reverence to the cultures they represent. Without a doubt, if you see no other museum in Vienna, see this one. 10/10 Recommend! -J
