Z‘SOM Restaurant

We dined at Z’som last month whilst in Vienna. This was our first time dinning at a Latin American restaurants and has shot up into our top 5 Michelin star places. The restaurant offers two tasting menu options with pairings. We went big and opted for the big tasting menu option. Every dish was simply outstanding and paired well with the wine. The staff were simply brilliant, attentive, knowledgable on what was put in front of us and some of the best service we have ever experienced. Our Sommelier was by far one of the best we had experienced. She took the time to explain the pairing and very generous in the pour. Overall, we could not fault the evening from start to finish. This Michelin-star restaurant is insanely good! Every dish was delicious, and the service was excellent. The flavors are very unique, unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. I would say the fish was definitely the highlight of the meal. Truly an unforgettable experience!

We had the small tasting menu, and it was outstanding. Unique, delicious flavors we’re not used to, every course was excellent. We especially loved the dish with spinach, pumpkin and barley, and the cardamom dessert. Friendly, warm service and a calm, cozy atmosphere and only a few tables. Highly recommended.

This was fine but they played with textures in a way that didn’t work. For the price and the michelan star the food was meh. Don’t get me wrong it was good but for the price it felt bad. The pork course was amazing and the desert was really good but lots of the courses played off and missed. It was good but for €100+ euro it was a bit of a miss.

Deserving of six stars! Congratulations to the chef and the team. Every course was a masterpiece. New flavours, new combinations and new wines. The China and the cutlery also deserve a mention as being beautiful and complimentary to the food. The service was delightful with timely pauses. I can’t praise Z’som highly enough. If this place was in London there would be a six month waiting list! Highly popular, a reservation will avoid disappointment.
