Wonderful dinner with incredible atmosphere and service. This place is and should forever be an institution in Vienna. Stefanie and her team are fantastic hosts and have created the most cost and intimate atmosphere. The food was homely, generous and so flavoursome and, paired with a bottle of sublime blaufränkisch, could not have been any better. Stefanie also came out and signed her cookbook for us which was a real treat. Will definitely be back next time we're in Vienna!

This is a hidden gem! They change the menu every week. The spinach dumplings with melted butter are a delight, the sarma is fantastic, the portions are huge! The staff are super friendly, can highly recommend!

Had a fantastic dinner on our first day in Vienna, thanks for the great experience. Had the cold cucumber soup, superb. The spinach dumplings and the tafelspitz that were both so so delicious. And for dessert the plum dumplings, also wonderful. The service was so friendly and so attentive, we got explanation on everything on the menu so we knew exactly what to choose. See you soon next time we're in Vienna.

Very cute place with lovely and polite staff, I had heard many great things about this place so maybe my expectations were too high, but unfortunately the food did not amaze me really. It was ok but nothing special or memorable…and the options are limited really. They are slightly pricey but when you consider that they are serving bio food with mostly regional ingredients, then its really ok.

Hands down the best Austrian knodels I’ve ever had! Only at Zur Herknerin would we order dumpling for appetiser, main & dessert and they were all fantastic! Love the vintage interior decor & warm cosy neighbourhood atmosphere. Fabulous service super friendly & welcoming. Decent selection of wines by the glass & I absolutely loved their handwritten menu. Our waiter translated them to us using their cookbook with photos which was so kind & lovely. Cash only & pls remember to tip for their fabulous service ! We enjoyed a fabulous dinner here to celebrate International Women’s Day at a brilliant restaurant spearheaded by their female founder! Thank you - loved every minute of our experience !
