This was a recommended stop by the YouTube channel ( Honest Guide ) for Prague. It was easy getting there by public transportation although no bus goes to the top of the hill so you have to make the climb along paved well manicured pathways. Like all memorials to the fallen it is a somber visit. The location high on top of the hill gives you a commanding view of Prague. Also you can take an elevator to the roof for an ever better view. I did stop at the cafe and sat on the terrace with a sweet pastry and a cup of coffee. This was well worth the effort to visit. Highly recommend.

A place that really impressed me. This huge monument sits on top of Vítkov Hill and offers one of the best panoramic views of Prague. It was built between the 1920s and 1930s to honour the Czechoslovak legionaries after World War I, and later became a symbol of different periods of Czech history. During the communist era it was even used as a mausoleum, before being restored after 1989. Outside you immediately notice the massive equestrian statue of Jan Žižka, one of the largest bronze horse statues in the world. Inside you can visit exhibitions about Czech statehood and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which commemorates soldiers who died for the country. A very interesting and meaningful place, combining history, architecture and an amazing view over the city. Definitely worth visiting.

In my opinion, there are 3 places in Prague that are worth getting to see Prague from above: The Clock Tower The Cathedral Vitkov A stunning view - Highly recommended

This building is relatively well designed and the museum offers great information about Jan Zizka and the battle that had occured here with an amazing view of Prague, however the opening and closing times are interestingly concerning and the walk up there is cumbersome when considering the dense roads of florence and the distance from any subway.

Talk about a hidden gem of Prague! Even though you can clearly see it on a hill, for some reason everyone goes just to the city center, this place was almost empty as we visited. And it is definitely worth a visit, absolutely stunning 360 degree view is truly something else. The building itself is a monument and sort of museum built of stone and marble. There is also a cafe with equally stunning views, but it could've been nicer on the inside. Oh, and the best part? It's totally free to visit, including the rooftop platform.
