The guided tour is a great way to see the theatre if you can't get your hands on show tickets. The tour is short but informative, they show you the main hall, the newer basement and you can sit in the royal box.

We came to the Estates Theatre for a tour in the morning and it was just perfect. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and we learnt all about the history of this amazing theatre (and all the name changes it went through) - I’d highly recommend doing a tour here! I would love to come see a proper show here sometime.
The Estates Theatre is one of Prague’s most elegant and historically significant buildings. Its soft green façade, ornate balconies and classical details create a refined presence that instantly stands out on Ovocný trh. Standing in front of the theatre feels like stepping into another century. The historic street lamps, decorative railings and grand proportions evoke the atmosphere of a European cultural capital at its peak. Knowing that Mozart himself conducted the premiere of Don Giovanni here adds a special sense of prestige and romance to the experience. Even without attending a performance, the exterior alone conveys the theatre’s cultural importance and timeless charm. It is a quiet yet powerful reminder of Prague’s deep connection to music, art and history.
We saw an excellent performance of Mozart's Magic Flute. I wasn't bored one bit. It's a beautiful building in which Mozart did perform! I believe Don Giovanni premiered here. You can book a tour of the theatre on particular day, so check it out in advance.
The Estates Theater in Prague was built in 1783. Mozart premiered his opera Don Giovanni here in 1787 and he also premiered his Symphony No 38 here in Prague that same year. The statue outside the Estates Theatre is “Il Commendatore” (also known as “The Cloak of Conscience”), created by artist Anna Chromy in 1993. The sculpture represents the ghostly character from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. The Estates Theater is a lovely theatre to see and hear any performance.
