The National Gallery of Prague has some of the most hypnotizing, beautiful artwork that I've ever seen. From Picasso and cubist paintings to beautiful depictions of Prague, there is an enormous amount of artwork that we adored. We were in the gallery for hours, and highly recommend it to fans of art in Prague. We went with our friends, and I can't wait to bring my family one day.

A truly essential visit for modern and contemporary art lovers in Prague. The building itself is a monumental and spacious example of Functionalist architecture (Veletržní palác, 1925-1929), providing a calm and excellent setting for the collections. The exhibitions are fantastically curated. Collection highlights include masterpieces from international artists like Monet, Picasso, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Matisse, and Rodin. What makes this gallery truly special, however, is the thoughtful and powerful integration of Czech masters (such as Václav Špála and Josef Šíma) displayed alongside the international collection—perfect for discovering new, influential artists. From early 20th-century Cubism to Expressionism and contemporary works, the quality and volume of art here are exceptional. Highly recommended for the inspiring collection and excellent curation.

Today was my 2nd time there. Now with my family. A very nice collection of art. Like tiny gems or treasures they have a painting or two of all famous artists: one Van Gogh, several Picassos, some paintings of Cezanne, Munk, Virgins by Klimt. Definitely worth paying a visit!

Make sure you have time because it’s gigantic!! We spent roughly 2-3 here and we did not even read all the history texts. The fact that it’s so huge is also a positive thing because I’m 100% sure you will at least find one art piece to your liking. I’ve added some of my favorite pieces down below. I find the first painting (the ice castle) so magnificent, I even bought a poster of it at the gift shop. The gift shop mainly had books, posters, cards and smaller items such as glasses cloths. The shop was really affordable compared to other gift shops (Kunsthalle Praha….) I got a poster and a glasses cloth and it was only 550 krona!!! Definitely recommend if you love to wander around for a while!!

One of the best collections of paintings and sculptures from the last 200 years. Picasso, Monet, Renoir, Munch, Van Gogh, it goes on and on. Spent almost 4 hours on a rainy Wednesday checking out the paintings on the 3rd and 4th floor, well worth the price of admission.
