Hotel Château Royal Berlin

Just spent a long weekend with my family at Chateau Royal hotel, and we absolutely loved everything. The decoration is beautiful, full of old charm, and art pieces that make ea h place unique. Each area of the hotel is carefully crafted, rooms are comfy with a wonderful size, breakfast is great and staff super friendly. The vibe of the bar appears to come out of a cool, indie movie. Also perfect location, quiet road, but near everything! Perfect!

Couldn't recommend this place more! I stayed here while in Berlin for the marathon and it could not have been more perfect. The location is 10 mins from the starting village. The service and hospitality was incredible. They have the best restaurant and made sure I was well-fueled for my race. The beds were so comfortable and I've never slept better. They even left me an electrolyte energy drink for me which was so cute. Would love to stay here again!

Let’s say it simple - doesn’t worth a penny. I paid for a junior suit, thin walls, was with full communication with the hotel, notified them for a quite room, that I am coming for one night and wishing for a late check out - with payment! If needed. The service is so bad that when I came back to take my room, first no one showed where things are - I walked aimlessly until I returned to the reception and asked for help. Secondly, they told me my bags are in my room, they weren’t god only know where they put them. Third, I asked again and again for late checkout was refused and the reception manager was dismissive and unpleasant - maybe it’s the German way for being unpleasant. So, good bar, nice place to have a drink and good food. Not worth your money for staying in.

This was the first and last stay at this hotel. While the rooms are nice and the location is good, the bad service made the whole stay a bitter memory. It is overpriced. They asked for an extra 100€ for a child bed. The worst service, and food was at breakfast, so I recommend skipping it and just go to the next by Einstein Café instead. All stuff, restaurant and reception, were unfriendly, some seemed hanged over or still under influence of drugs from the previous night. For the same price, you can get much more value for your money, pretty much anywhere else. @hotel owner, no need to comment on this telling me you’re very sorry. And I have already expressed my disappointment from the service during my stay, so I don’t need to send you another email. Nice design is not a good enough reason to stay at your hotel. Good service should match the good design.

It's difficult to understand how sucha well established hotel can get things so wrong. The room and taxes were all prepaid, but on check-out the receptionist asked for payment. I explained that it was all prepaid and left it at that. On returning home I found that i have been charged twice for the room and taxes. It then seemed impossible for the hotel management to refund the exact money (I still don't have a full refund). The hotel management wanted to blame me for the bank charges which resulted in the under payment. It seemed lost on them, that if they haven't charged me twice there wouldn't be any bank charges.
