The loveliest hotel! Everything is designed thoughtfully and it feels like everything is planned with a lot of love and detail. There is homemade ginger shots for example in the morning and home baked goods. I booked it almost by accident after my flight was canceled and it made the delays a lot nicer. Will definitely return and can highly recommend!
Incredible spot in a quieter neighborhood of berlin, nestled in an old women's prison that has been refurbished into a boutique hotel. staff was lovely, food and breakfasts were wonderful and quiet, and i took great advantage of the gratis coffee and pastries in the kitchen. really felt like a tranquil experience in the middle of a global city. highly recommend.
From beginning to end was a truly seamless experience. The ambiance of each space is so thoughtfully curated and the longer I stayed, the more I became curious about the building itself. I really appreciated glimpses of the building’s history intertwined with the current aesthetics. The service is also top notch and every person we came across was delightful and willing to answer any questions. The sauna is also a memorable experience and not something that should be overlooked while here. Also loved the selection of books around the common areas - we both spent an evening in relaxing by the fire and it’s one of my favorite evenings on our trip. Thank you Wilmina, wishing you all the best in 2026 - xoxo
We stayed at Wilmina apartments (not the hotel), which are located in a different and new building. The apartment was very spacious, new and comfortable, kitchen equipped with all you might need, shower, everything new and clean. What we did not like is that we did not know that the hotel itself used to be women's prison. It's definitely good that old buildings are preserved and transformed into something new, but if you are sensitive to such kind of things - may be this hotel is not the best choice. Still a lot is seen from the prison times: windows, doors - etc, you have to open many doors with your key to enter the breakfast area, and in general having breakfast in the prison yard is definitely "not my cup of tea". The breakfast I'd say is not that rich, however it offers everything you might need. They have their own bakery, so fresh bread and pastries were marvelous. They also offer free coffee/tee station at the lounge zone. All in all the apartments are very comfortable, but it would be great to know about the history of the building beforehand.
A very cute hotel in charlottenburg. The staff was extremely kind and the facilities were always in pristine condition. This is a new style concept for hotels (remodeling but with preservation in mind) and has won architectural awards and you can see why once checked in. The gym, sauna, and pool are all on a roof and a quiet little area to relax. There are also a few cozy lounge areas for coworking and unwinding. The rooms are a bit smaller but I mean it was a prison after all once upon a time. There are also serviced apartments which I am interested in renting for an extended stay the next time in I’m the area. Great option for a few days to kick off your Berlin trip (: Thank you to all of the staff for a great experience.
