During the Second World War, 48 bunkers were built in the city, some of which have survived to this day. The bunker, which is located on Blumenstrasse, is locally called the Flower Bunker (named after the street). Externally, the square-shaped bunker resembles a defensive tower and has six floors. Its height is 14.25 meters and the thickness of the walls is 1.3 meters. In 2016, the municipal council gave the bunker for a museum of culture and urban planning; now one of the branches of the Architectural Gallery is located here. The architectural gallery has existed since 1989 and is supported by donations. It is located on two sites, one of which is this bunker. It is located away from the main attractions and there are practically no people here. Exhibitions, readings, and presentations take place here.

The bunker is finally accessible. Good, exciting place, with even more potential. With additional openings, it feels clear inside, the ventilation system works perfectly, so that the rooms appear fresh even when heavily occupied. It would of course be better if the bunker was made of glass and what happened in it was publicly visible and more effective. Maybe there are ways and means to specifically cut in a few windows? It's a shame that the space between the new Schrannenhalle building and the bunker has so far not been used as a beautiful space but as a back side. Maybe there is a possibility of setting up a restaurant?
