Amazing experience for just about everyone at a reasonable price. The greenhouses are filled with plants from all over the world, divided into different houses like palm trees, water plants,... which are well taken care of. Unfortunately, there are only few descriptions and facts on the plants and they are only in German. It took about 2 hours to see everything in the greenhouses. To see everything else outside, one would need to spend up to 5 hours. There was a mushroom exhibition that was also interesting with rare types on display. The Biotopia lab was a must for children and all science-lovers: there was a flight simulation, microscopes to look at a grain, and many other activities to learn more about foods and crops. The outdoor area was gorgeous with multiple flower gardens. It is perfect for a long walk in nice weather with banks along the way if you need a short break.
I visited on beautiful day assuming a crowd of people, but totally opposite. I loved how the atmosphere was very quiet and chillin’. I get to observe many beautiful plants and flowers without no rush. Really nice. Turtles were very interesting to see. Entrance fee 5.50euro is great value!
I would call it a must when visiting Munich. It’s a short walk from the Nymphenburg palace and there is a direct trail leading to it. Great place to have lunch with friends/family as you can bring packed lunch inside or just stop by a restaurant they have inside. Coffee is decent too. The greenhouse is spectacular, and the arrangement of plants in general is very impressive.
Beautiful gardens to wander around!! There’s plenty of seating everywhere to ponder or read a book! The glasshouse had a vast array of different plant species from around the world. One part had a pond with turtles and fishes!! Really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful flowers!!
I visited the botanical gardens with a group of schoolchildren for a trip. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the variation and colourful vegetation! It was free to enter with a school group and it’s recommended to bring lunch along and have your own picnic. The kids had plenty of interest in the huge variation of trees and plants, especially the international species. Plan at least 2 hours here to pay attention to all the sections.
