Interesting spot. It is open and good to see surfers out there honing their skills. It’s no comparison to the Great Barrier Reef in Sydney but it’s a good start to get at it. Quiet on Saturday mornings but by mid day, it will be very busy. There is also a parking lot right there for convenience of loading and unloading and not the cheapest but similar to street parking.
When visiting the English Garden, if you're a tourist, try to stop by this end for something different. This is really popular and pretty unique in Munich.
This is a place I hadn't heard about before my Munich visit. And it's totally cool! A bunch of surfers is lining up to try to surf as long as possible and stay above water. There is also a big crowd of tourists looking at them. It's a shame that there are no changing rooms or some base for these people, as the spot is very popular. Despite some accident that happened there in the past, people still return for surfing. So maybe it would be just better to accept the situation and come forward to the surfers with better comfort and security. But being punk like this, I must admit that the place has its own charm.
This is one of the most unique spots in Munich and a must see if you are in town. There are surfer surfing all day all year around. But the spot is only for advanced river surfer. There are big rocks right behind the wave and it’s really easy to hurt yourself when you fall. If you want to learn surfing go to E2 or Floslände.
It's so exciting to have a look there at the surfers while they're playing and performing hardly against the waves. It's a unique experience that you won't find it elsewhere in large cities like Munich.
