Nymphenburg Castle is absolutely stunning! I had the chance to visit this magnificent Baroque palace in Munich, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. The architecture is breathtaking, with grand facades and intricately designed interiors that transport you back in time. I was particularly impressed by the Great Hall, with its elaborate frescoes and chandeliers—it really showcases the opulence of the Bavarian royal family. The grounds are just as impressive, with beautiful gardens, tranquil lakes, and charming smaller pavilions scattered throughout. I spent hours walking through the park, and the peaceful atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing stroll. The history of the castle is fascinating as well. It was the summer residence of Bavarian rulers for over 300 years, and you can feel the royal history in every room. The museums, like the Marstallmuseum and the Nymphenburg Porcelain Museum, offer great insights into the castle’s past, showcasing royal carriages and exquisite porcelain. If you’re in Munich, visiting Nymphenburg Castle is an absolute must. It’s the perfect blend of history, art, and nature, and it left me with a lasting impression of the grandeur and beauty of Bavarian royalty. Highly recommend!

Decent palace with about 20 rooms that can be seen in 30 minutes if reading the signs (vs. audio guide). Most rooms include a bit of artwork, and a few include additional furnishings which are fine. The Great Hall is spectacular, but others are a little less impressive. There is a sign in Essen room with German, English, and Italian or an audio guide can be used for further languages and details. The grounds are a little bare in winter, but good to stretch the legs. Backpacks aren't allowed, but it's a bit of an inconsistent policy based on where the bag's straps are vs. their size as large purses or shopping bags were permitted but narrow sling back bags were not. A bit irritating but free lockers are provided near where tickets are purchased. Toilets were clean in the front.

Beautiful gardens to walk around. Statues covered in the winter but it’s still pretty. Geese a plenty. Some people were skating on the canal leading up to it, lovely place to sit and enjoy family time on a sunny day.

Big and great historic park of a palace close to Munich. Streetcar🚊 (Tram line 17) brings you right to the entrance / channel where you see lots of swans and other water birds. The ways are wide and can handle crowds of visitors. Also if the days before were wet, paths are walkable. There are several smaller buildings you are passing by. Sometimes they are open to visitors. But most people come for a (longer) walk - usually on the weekends. Also the castle itself is open to the public at times. But it's less interesting than other castle. 🏰

We expected a bigger interior visit, however it is at best a 1 hour visit max which is a shame because the castle is huge and there could be more rooms to see. The rooms are restored neatly, however I suspect they are overdone to the point that everything looks brand new. Be sure to come early if you want to visit outside premises as well as it is a really huge complex.
