High Quality and Excellent Wine Selection at Fair Prices This is a classic Italian restaurant offering both indoor seating and a charming, sheltered courtyard, which is very comfortable and also allows smoking. The wine list is extensive, with a wide selection available at very reasonable prices. The food was delicious, and the service was efficient and professional.
Be warned, you pay top money for a very mediocre experience. We paid 350 bucks, for not even a full dining experience for three persons. I guess we could have been more careful and watched our back pockets, but who wants to do that? No one wants to feel robbed after a nice dinner. Upon entry we asked for antipasti for the table and prosecco. They charged us 90 euro for the wine and 100 for the antipasti. I guess they have to fit in their menu options, but this is in no way reasonable (20 bucks for some tomato and mozzarella). Main course, the Saltimbocca is actually classic German cuisine with mashed potatoes, gravy and boiled carrots. The meat was paperthin but ok in terms of quality. They give you a huge wine menu with top dolllar wines, and we had a perfectly ok primitivo for 46, but don’t expect them to offer a passable or even reasonably priced house wine. It’s on you peasant to select wine, no pride or effort from the restaurant to help in that sense. With the primitivo they said “the only difference is price”, and they go from 46 to 155 bucks. Staff was friendly but in the end predatory. No discussion possible about choises made and associated pricings. Smoking is encouraged in the inner court, which with the tarp feels like inside. To each their own but that’s really outdated.
I appreciate this is a historical place in a very nice area of Munich, however the food is very average. Service was on the worse side, it took multiple attempts to get a glass of Prosecco. It would have been 2 stars if it weren’t for the deserts, which were good. Starters and hot food were just not that good, especially given the price tag. I don’t think I ever had such bad tartar at that level of restaurant. Definitely not coming back.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Munich! The vibe is very traditional, the food is incredible and the service lovely - feels like Italy!
A good restaurant overall, a bit pricy though. Feels like you are paying partially for the fame. risotto was very nice.
