One of the old city gates dating back to 1862 and built in a Greek style. A nice place to visit to see some of the history of Munich. It is located in Konigsplatz just a short trip from the city center by underground. It is opposite a couple of museums where there are plenty of seating areas to relax and admire the city gates.

The Propylaea is a city gate in Munich at the west side of Königsplatz. This is located in Luisenstraße 31, 80333 München, Germany. You can admire the prominent Doric order columns of the Propylaea during sunset as the golden rays wash out this Greek Revival Architecture, a monument to the Greek War of Independence in 1821. Take some selfies with the Propylaea as your background!

The Propylaea was completed in 1862 and stands as a stunning neoclassical gate on Königsplatz. It was built to honor the Greek War of Independence, with its massive Doric columns and intricate reliefs making it a striking historical landmark in the city.

Historical place located in Königsplatz. Its construction was started and completed in the 19th century as the renewal of the city. It is nice that it is still exhibited and preserved today. It took us 1 hour to visit. Generally, local people use the green areas around them and spend more time.
