Beautiful spot to enjoy a meal. Plenty of delicious food options. Very relaxing.
This bustling biergarten offers a great selection of local beers and an authentic Bavarian experience in Munich. I highly recommend trying the massive pretzels with Obatzda (Bavarian cream cheese); a perfect combination with a cold beer on tap. Expect to pay around €5-8 for a pretzel and €4-6 per beer. Service is average and can take time during peak hours. However the lively atmosphere in the heart of Munich makes it a fantastic place to relax and enjoy some local flavour. It’s also ideal that they are open on Sundays, when the rest of the market is closed.
Viktualienmarkt Biergarten offers a lively experience with fresh beer and hearty Bavarian fare, perfect even for breakfast! Surrounded by market stalls, it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the local flavors in the heart of Munich.
Atmosphere doesn’t make you sit and relax to enjoy beer and food. Tables are put too close to each other and there’s no space to walk between them. Food okay, beer is beer. Staff no so friendly.
Atmosphere in this beer garden is great. I had the schweinebraten, it was ok, felt sick afterwards. I had much better schweinebraten in other restaurants. The service was terrible. Our waiter disappeared. Asked for salt at the desk and two other waiters literally yelled at me. Could have just asked me to wait a second. I would recommend going somewhere else if you want to eat. It’s nice if you’re just going to sit and drink a beer.
