This is a small but interesting museum where you can explore cultural artifacts that tell the story of the Icelandic nation. The experience concludes at the Settlement Exhibition, where you can view the geological remains of Viking longhouse ruins. 👌 I also would like to say that there are gift shops at both ends (the National Museum and the Settlement Exhibition). At the Settlement Museum, I found the cutest raven plush toy. Given the raven's symbolic significance in Viking culture, I thought it would be easier to find as a souvenir, but surprisingly, it wasn’t, at least not in Reykjavík. 🐦‍⬛

Very creative way to experience the history of the city. You start from the old settlement and then go up to present times, looking at the most important landmarks and milestones .

Very nice museum, well worth the visit. An old Icelandic settlement is right underneath the building. Would be great to have a guided tour, which is not applicable at the moment I guess.

Excellent museum tracing Icelandic life from 870 til present . Highly recommended with very knowledgeable staff and great exhibits right in the center of Rejkjavic
