You will find this monument to Einar Benediktsson next to the historic Höfði House on the Reykjavik waterfront. It is the work of Ásmundur Sveinsson and was originally erected at Miklatún park in 1964. The statue was relocated to its present location in 2015. What you see is a bronze depiction of Benediktsson, who was an esteemed Icelandic poet and lawyer whose poetry is credited with making significant contribution in Icelandic nationalism revival that helped lead towards the countries independent. It is a nice tribute worth spending a few moments to view in the area.
