What a wonderful restaurant! The variety of main course, drink, and dessert options are wonderful and unique. The Arctic char appetizer was delicious. As well as the miso cod man course dish. I would highly recommend dining at this restaurant when in Reykjavik.

I’ll start this off by saying I came in because of their menu and then actually walked out because they were doing a special popup Icelandic X Japanese cuisine set menu. After thinking about it for a moment I went back and I’m so glad I did. There’s a lot I could to say about this experience, especially personally because I have a special place in my heart for Japan and why Japan was the reason I was in Iceland at all. But this is about the food so let’s go… I opted for the full course set and one of the pairing Yuzu Beers - they had a full pairing selection available also. The course comes two at a time for around 9 or so total dishes. It’s plenty of food and each one is so very unique truly. It’s Japanese style Icelandic and it’s so hard to describe other than it was delicious. The chef - Baldur Freyr Hilmarsson - and I actually got to speak a bit and he told me he was worried some of the dishes wouldn’t be received well, but they were my favorites (the lamb skewers with wild blueberries and garlic and the creamy salmon dashi soup with salmon roe and wasabi oil). Honestly though everything was fantastic, and nothing was served that felt too out of place next to each other in terms of pairings. I’m very pleased with being able to have caught this popup and I’m looking forward to trying Kopar again in the future when I’m back in Iceland. Everyone on the staff was so nice - one even said ah you’ve decided to give us a try! - after I left and came back haha. Seriously though such nice folks and great service. The atmosphere was beautiful and overlooks the docks as well. Thank you so much Kopar for a fantastic final meal in Iceland!

We ordered their three course lunch menu. The food was great. The catch of the day tasted fresh. The rock crab soup was appetizing. Although, what stood out the most was the quality of service by one of their employees. Oliwia was phenomenal from beginning to end. She was very patient with our questions and very attentive and accommodating to our needs all throughout. Best service we had out of all the places we visited in Iceland. Thank you for having us!

We loved it! Every single person in the staff was lovely, and the food was delicious! We had a smoked arctic char to start, then the salted cod and mushroom wellington. Both were delicious but we preferred the cod. The flavours were very gentle and went well together. For dessert we ordered the dessert delight, which included 3 different desserts (the orange brownie with an orange-carrot sorbet, the skyr mousse with a raspberry sorbet, and the lemon pie with a sour cream ice cream). Delicious!

This was the perfect dinner to end our vacation! The menu is absolutely excellent! Lots of fresh fish and seafood. Highly recommend getting the catch of the day. We had a really great experience here, it was quiet and calm. Service was great and overall great vibes.
