Mai Thai Bistro

As sure as sunrise, there is a reliable Thai bistro in every big city! Mai Thai fits this bill! Decent Thai food in a cafe-like setting with counter service. The traditional fried rice and noodle dishes were prepared fresh, and served with a smile!

A mere 250m away from Fosshotel Reykjavik, this bistro offers pretty tasty food. The lady who took our orders was very patient and didn't exhibit any displeasure when we changed our orders. Even though we ultimately ordered three takeaway dinners, she put four sets of cutlery in the paper bag because she knew there would be four people dining.

Very nice staff, atmosphere lovely too! We ordered a massaman and thai red chicken curry for Icelandic standards it was really good , highly recommend popping in!!

We ordered a Tom Yum and Thai basil stir-fry. The food itself wasn't bad, but far from authentic. It's definitely disappointing to pay Iceland prices for subpar food. The service was good and quick.

Is this a joke? Are the previous reviews serious? Do these people even have taste? We just left, and it was a complete disaster, absolutely awful! It was like being in a school cafeteria! We ordered Thai dishes (massaman curry and red curry), and they served us some kind of soup that was nothing like Thai! Absolutely avoid this place!
