Wow. Wow. Wow. Ox easily made it to my top 5, this restaurant is everything I am looking for in a fine dining experience - farm to table, best of the local produce, with amazing traditional cooking techniques (that geothermal cooked bread!) and delicious dishes. The vibe of the place is grandma's, but elevated, and it feels warm and welcoming. It's not cheap, and they make you choose a drink pairing menu, but their non-alcoholic menu is very unique and most drinks are made in-house. The menu is robust, even for a Michelin starred kitchen, with 20-22 dishes per meal. So overall it was well worth the price. Beautiful experience, don't miss when in Iceland!

Our 22-course ÓX experience exceeded expectations. From the moment you enter service is outstanding and the restaurant team are all friendly and engaging. The menu is creative and honors Icelandic cuisine, and such a fun way to be introduced to some of the ingredients that make Iceland so unique. I was unable to partake in the alcoholic pairings and was initially really bummed about that. The non-alcoholic pairings blew me away, and I wanted to ensure to note this as it was the most unique beverage pairing experience I've had. Very thoughtfully curated and I was so excited by the pairing that I did not miss the alcohol in the slightest. This experience was a favorite from our vacation and is one of a kind, you won't regret making the reservation.

Ox was easily one of our best dining experiences, not just in Iceland, but anywhere. Every course had me literally shaking my head in amazement, and the wine pairings were SO well done too; some of the best wines I've had! The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the staff's rapport was pure entertainment. Their enthusiastic and lively descriptions of each course's ingredients, and preparations took the whole experience to another level. While it was pricey, we felt it was absolutely worth every cent, and definitely something we would want to do again if we return to Reykjavík. 100% recommend it!

Dining at OX in Iceland feels like stepping into someone’s home. The space is designed like a cozy kitchen and living room, almost as if you’re visiting the chef’s grandmother’s house. The 60s and 70s décor adds charm and makes the whole experience feel warm and personal. The food celebrates authentic Icelandic traditions, with dishes that are both comforting and creative. Every plate felt thoughtful and true to the country’s flavors. Did you know OX only seats a handful of guests at a time? That intimacy makes the evening feel more like a gathering among friends than a typical restaurant visit. OX is truly a special place for anyone wanting to experience Icelandic cuisine in a unique and personal way.

I went to Óx while they were hosting a visiting team from Etoile restaurant in Sweden. This meal was the most intimate fine dining experience I’ve attended - all members of the staff (including the head chefs for each restaurant) were chatting with the attendees as if it was almost a dinner party with some of the best food I’ve ever had. Not one dish was less than excellent in my opinion and the barbecued lobster was one of my top three dishes I’ve ever eaten. There were some incredibly creative dishes like a creme brûlée fish dish that were (shockingly) quite delicious. And finally, the price was high but staggeringly reasonable for a 20 course menu with 10 pairings included. This restaurant is a MUST visit if you are a fine dining fan and are able to get reservations
