Skál!

Fantastic! 2 course meal was great value. Today it was shrimp and cod. The lamb was fantastic and grilled rare and with some kind of wrap (seaweed? Not sure) - best lamb I ever had, it did taste like lamb. Highly recommend.

We had the tasting menu and honestly it was one of the worst we have had in Iceland. The first 3 dishes were nice and had promise (especially the scallop) but then it just went downhill. The hotdog I understand is maybe some sort of tourist gimmick but it was really not good. The fish had far too many bones still left in it, and there was no warning about them. It was also overcooked and rubbery. The lamb, which is king of Iceland, had a very horrible flavour, very gamey- more like mutton. I've lived here 9 years and my partner is native and we both thought it was the worst icelandic lamb we had ever had. The waiter forgot our cutlery at first and joked we could cut it with a spoon but it was actually nearly impossible to cut with the knife when it appeared. Very tough, stringy and chewy. The dessert had nice flavours but the green granita was too strong and herby and clashed everything. Waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was nice overall - except at the end when we were basically rushed to pay and told the table was taken for the next booking. The high tables are also not great for dining and uncomfortable.

Very good food. Pretty expensive but we had the aged steak. Lot of flavor in the sauce they gave with it. The potatoes were a sort of salty vinegar flavor with a crunch, really good. The bread basket had a great garlic butter flavor. The cod cheek was good. Had a very crunchy texture and great sauce on top.

What a great experience! I had the fish dish, it was one of the best I had ever: the sauce was perfect and combined brilliantly with nuts, apples and sun-choke slices. Delicious ! My friends had the lamb, this was really soft and had a thinnest coiled layer on the outside- they loved it.

Skal! A Very nice and cozy place to enjoy a very good meal with your partner or friends. Staff are very attentive and takes their time to explain the menu. They will also describe what you ordered which is a plus to service team. We had the scallops as starters and my partner and I ordered the lamb (of course its a must!) as main and she ordered the fish. All are fresh and delicious. The only thing sad is that they removed the cod wings in their menu. I was looking forward to it and probably others as well. Bring them back please.
