Outstanding restaurant! I was here with a friend from Zurich, I am so glad I was invited. Booking in advance is recommended! Nice and unique atmosphere, friendly and professional staff, thank you! Very tasty meal and good election of wine. Very welcoming and feeling like home. People know each other and altogether it creates very much Zurich style. Look at the paintings and photos on the walls! You also have to visit their bar!
It’s a very popular place in Zurich and I only like it because it’s very beautiful inside with all the paintings from very famous painters. Unfortunately the food is not that good, too salty or not at all, frozen vegetables, etc. And it is just overpriced even for Zurich. The service is not very nice either even rude sometimes. I would go to the bar that is very nice instead!
We popped into the bar area on a Sunday at 3:00 and were able to get a cozy corner table. I’m so glad we did! Beautiful mid-century modern design with fine art. Cozy and beautiful. Enjoyed our cocktails and a burrata salad immensely. Sat under an original Picasso. The waiters were friendly and attentive. Check it out!
Absolutely legendary spot for classic Swiss specialties like liver dumpling soup and veal in morel mushroom sauce. The chocolate mousse with double cream sauce is decadent and the tuxedoed service? Old school and simply the best.
Kronenhalle is a must-go to experience a unique piece of Zurich history while dining with Chagall, Picasso, Miro, Braque, and other notable artists surrounding you in an impressive art collection. From the bar to the dining rooms, the atmosphere makes you feel in awe stepping back into the pages of history. The clientele seemed to have many native well-heeled Swiss and some tourists that discreetly gawked at the art. The food is classic Swiss. The veal steak with morel mushroom sauce was delicious and the meat was tender. The breaded veal was good. Overall, the food was good and nicely presented. The staff was attentive, professional, and kind. Our waitress was even able to tell us about each individual work of art. This is a very special iconic restaurant.
