Large museum after the new building extension. Highly recommended as you get the most “bang for your buck” since you have access to (2) buildings which have various art from different timelines. Great variety of art that will suit many levels of art aficionados.
I had a wonderful experience visiting Kunsthaus Zürich! The museum offers an impressive collection, showcasing works from a wide range of artists. Walking through the exhibitions, I truly appreciated the vibrant atmosphere and the thoughtful curation of the artworks. Beyond the art itself, the museum has a great vibe—calm yet inspiring. The gift shop is also worth mentioning, as it’s filled with unique and creative items that make perfect presents for loved ones. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys art, culture, and a welcoming museum experience. I’ll definitely be returning!
Great permanent and temporary collections. The museum has something to meet a high variety of art wishes and preferences. For some temporary collections, even more if one wants to see them during weekends, would suggest early online booking. For frequent visitors is worth to go for annual membership. The cafeteria is pretty much always full in the old building :)
There are lockers to keep your belonging, a nice cafe to rest, and many floors of different galleries to enjoy and admire. There are also some interactive corners such as drawers or drawing papers. The place is very large with many pleasant rooms with the perfect daylight lighting. What makes it more perfect is the free entry on Wednesdays and you can see visitors of all age groups enjoying art. 🤍
Must visit when in Zurich! The exhibition that discusses the origins of the collection (some of which was likely taken and sold to the collector by the Nazis) was very emotional for me. It was very refreshing to see a museum that is willing to engage in discussions about the origins of their collection. The art itself is magnificent with loads of Monet, Van Gogh etc.
